With 35 treatment rooms, Bay Regional Medical Center's Emergency Department is ready to handle anyone who comes to us in need. We treat minor injuries and illnesses, as well as serious trauma, heart attacks, head injuries, stroke, and other problems.
BRMC is a Designated Stroke Center, as defined by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. This means any suspected stroke puts our designated stroke team into action. Specially trained physicians, nurses, and other specialists are called to the Emergency Department or put on alert.
Trauma rooms, observation areas, and "Fast Track" rooms provide patients with appropriate care as quickly as possible. Our goal is to provide you with the best care, as quickly - and safely - as possible. If delays occur in your care, please be aware that we are doing everything possible to limit the time you spend in the ED. Emergency care is not "first come, first served." It is fluid, and is focused first on those with the greatest need. Your understanding is appreciated during your care process. If you have questions at any time, please ask your caregiver. Two-way communication is essential to keep you informed and well cared for.
