More Wall of Pride..

Bay Regional Medical Center receives numerous letters for our  Wall of Pride from the website, newspaper, and personally written to us.  We would like to use this area to share different letters with you.

Email message via Bay Regional Medical Center website, January 18, 2011

My brother recently had open heart surgery a week ago Thursday. I wanted to single out one of his nurses, Joanna Matthews, who was absolutely wonderful. She was always courteous, reassuring, sympathetic and everything an exceptional nurse should be. My brother and his family appreciate her going out of her way to answer our questions, of where there were many. Please be sure she receives a copy of this email and that her supervisor sees it as well. Thank you.

Re: surgery on 1/17/11

Dr. Glen Kershen; Bay Regional Medical Center

I just wanted to thank everyone at Bay Regional Medical Center for making my husband's surgery a great experience.

On 1/14/11 we went to the doctor and found out he had to have surgery. It was scheduled for Monday, 1/17/11. We received several phone calls from the hospital and were able to make all the arrangements via phone. That was great since we live two hours away.

On 1/17/11 we arrived early at 7:30 a.m. The lady at the information desk was very friendly and helpful. Next stop the lab. Another great experience. Then onto the 2nd floor for the OR waiting room. Let me tell you, the lady that was on duty at the desk that day really knows what she is doing and how to handle people. We were there for a few hours and she did not miss a beat. She kept everyone informed and the place running smoothly. The room was overflowing with people and she had to call and get extra chairs. Next into the surgery waiting room. We had very good nurses. The nurse that put in the IV in was very knowledgeable and was very helpful. She was able to answer all our questions. Our surgery was backed up 2 hours, I expected a wait because the doctors never know how long it is going to take for other cases but it was not bad at all. The TV helped pass the time. Someone came and gave me a $5.00 lunch ticket. He was wheeled into surgery and I went to the waiting room.

The disk that you gave to me was amazing. You were able to get a hold of me when I was not there. It was not long before the doctor called to talk with me. Then I went to lunch and came back to the floor and was told that I could go in and see my husband. The staff and nurses in that unit were very nice. They were checking on everyone and I saw nurses helping other nurses with whatever had to be done.

The Pharmacy delivered our meds and that was great. The release nurses were great also. They had a smile on their faces no matter what was going on.

It was a very great experience. I will highly recommended my friends and family go there in the future.

At no time did I see anyone arguing or complaining about anything that had to be done in any of the departments. I can't say that about other places I have been.

I just wanted you to know that you have a really nice team of employees and I hope you value their work that they do.

I did not see anything that could be changed or improved upon.

Please share this with your employees as they need to know what a great job they did.

Thank you again for the great service.

T.B.
