Fatigue and Alertness

How many times have you awakened on a weekday morning, ready to go back to sleep? Everyone has a unique biological clock that needs to be reset daily. Americans are largely "sleep-deprived." We try to squeeze in everything possible before we fall into bed, only to find we aren’t as efficient or productive as if we’d had a good night’s sleep. Just as we must fuel our body with food, we need to gives our bodies the rest they need. Sometimes, fatigue is the result of a sleep disorder that can be diagnosed by physician referral to Ingham’s Center for Sleep and Alertness. Often, fatigue can be corrected by following a regular sleep schedule that provides 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep.
