Urology

Urological services offer treatment for disorders of the kidneys, bladder, urinary tract, and male reproductive organs. The physicians on staff are educated to care for children as well as adults.

Urology Defined

A urologist's educational background includes a bachelor's degree, four years of medical school, and a minimum of five-years in a residency program. Urologists are certified by the American Board of Urology (ABU). Urologists must also be re-certified every ten years. They are categorized as a surgical subspecialty because of their wide knowledge of internal medicine, pediatrics, and other specialties, as well as the various clinical conditions they encounter.
